Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 26, 2026

Last updated: September 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bryan Scott Kos, creator of The Sandman & The Snowman™ ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, stores, and shares information through TheSandmanAndTheSnowman.com (the "Website").

By using the Website or submitting information through it, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect:

Information you provide: Your first name, email address, consent selection, and any optional telephone number, message, idea, skill, or other information you voluntarily submit.

Signup information: The date and time of signup, the wording or version of the consent presented, and information identifying how you reached the Website, such as a referral source or campaign link.

Communications: Information you provide when you call, text, or otherwise communicate with Bryan.

Technical information: Internet Protocol (IP) address, device and browser type, general location derived from an IP address, referring pages, pages viewed, and similar usage, security, and diagnostic information collected through Wix, cookies, or related technologies.

The Website does not currently process purchases or collect payment-card information. If merchandise, crowdfunding, book purchases, or other paid offerings become available through a third-party provider, that provider will process information under its own privacy policy and terms.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

Add you to the Founding Supporters list when you request to join.

Send the welcome response and project, production, launch, and crowdfunding updates for which you have provided consent.

Respond to questions, ideas, or offers to help.

Understand how visitors find and use the Website.

Maintain, secure, troubleshoot,     and improve the Website.

Prevent fraud, misuse, or security incidents.

Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. Consent and Email Choices

We send project and promotional email updates only when you have provided the requested consent or when otherwise permitted by law. You may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in an email. We may retain limited information about an unsubscribe request so that we can honor it.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Website is hosted on Wix. Wix uses essential cookies and similar technologies for security, stability, fraud prevention, and core site functions. The Website may also use optional analytics, embedded media, or other third-party features that place additional cookies.

Where required, visitors can accept or decline nonessential cookies through the Website's cookie banner. You may also manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect how some Website features operate.

Because browsers do not provide one uniform "Do Not Track" standard, the Website may not respond to every Do Not Track signal. We will honor legally recognized privacy choices when required and technically supported.

5. How Information May Be Shared

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with:

Wix and service providers that provide website hosting, forms, contact management, email delivery, analytics, security, or technical support.

Authorized contractors who assist with the Website or project and are given only the access reasonably needed for their assigned work.

Government authorities or other parties when disclosure is required by law, necessary to protect rights or safety, or needed to investigate fraud or misuse.

A successor organization if the project or related assets are reorganized, transferred, or sold, subject to applicable law and appropriate protection of personal information.

The Website may link to merchandise, crowdfunding, social-media, video, publishing, or other third-party services. Information you provide directly to those services is governed by their privacy policies. We are not responsible for their independent practices.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including maintaining the Founding Supporters list, providing requested communications, meeting legal obligations, resolving disputes, and maintaining appropriate business records.

If you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal suppression record to prevent future promotional messages. Information that is no longer reasonably necessary will be deleted or de-identified when practical and legally appropriate.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information. However, no website, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not submit sensitive financial, medical, government-identification, or password information through the Website, by text message, or through the Founding Supporters form.

8. Children's Privacy

The book is created for children and families, but the Website's Founding Supporters signup and contact features are intended for adults age 18 or older. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or legal guardian to use these features on your behalf.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that personal information was submitted directly by a child under 13 without legally required parental authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or legal guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information may contact us using the method below.

9. Privacy Rights and Requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include requesting access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information, or withdrawing consent and objecting to certain uses.

To make a privacy request, call or text 312-298-9164 and begin the message with "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Please do not include sensitive information in your initial text message.

10. International Visitors

The Website is operated from the United States. Wix and other service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Those countries may have data-protection rules different from those in your location. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers.
